Is this GitHub bounty real? Check it in seconds

Paste a GitHub issue link. We check whether the bounty platform itself (Algora, Opire, BountyHub or TaskBounty) confirms the bounty, whether the issue is still open and unassigned, whether a merged pull request already solves it, and whether the repository looks trustworthy.

Free beta: 10 checks per day without an account. Results are cached for 10 minutes.

What the verdict means

Not every platform can be checked: IssueHunt has no public check, so an IssueHunt-only issue shows as not confirmed with a flag saying so.

Use it as an API

The same check is available as a JSON endpoint, handy for scripts and AI agents that collect bounties.

curl "https://bountyos.rovidev.com/api/v1/verify?repo=owner/name&issue=123"

Anonymous calls are limited to 10 per day per IP. With a free account you can create an API key (send it as the X-API-Key header) for 200 checks per day while the beta lasts. If you need more volume, write to contacto@rovidev.com.

FAQ

How do you know a bounty is real? We look for the platform's own confirmation: a comment from the Algora app (algora-pbc), from bountyhub-bot, the TaskBounty label, or a listing in the Opire public API. A "/bounty $500" typed in the issue text is not accepted.

Does a real bounty mean I will get paid? No. It means the bounty exists. Competition, an assigned issue, a merged pull request or an inactive repository can still make it not worth your time, which is why the verdict includes those signals.

Is it free? Yes, during the beta: 10 checks a day without an account, 200 a day with an API key.
